MetaTrader Hosting Checklist for Brokerage Teams

Hosting selection should account for how the brokerage operates and who supports it. Use this checklist to compare deployment boundaries and evidence instead of choosing from a server-size table alone.

State what the hosting provider will operate

Separate infrastructure rental, operating-system maintenance, platform operation and application support. Identify the provider responsible for each layer and the access retained by the brokerage. A managed-server label does not explain who can change configuration or investigate a failed integration.

List the platform and connected services proposed for the environment. Include monitoring, backup storage, administrative access and scheduled workloads. Verify the supported requirements for the actual software before comparing hosting plans. An attractive resource allocation is irrelevant if an essential dependency is unsupported.

Compare the environment across five practical dimensions

DimensionQuestion to resolve
Resource isolationWhat is dedicated, shared or subject to contention?
StorageHow are capacity, latency, growth and restoration handled?
Network placementHow do relevant client regions and connected providers reach the service?
AccessWhich team holds privileged control and how are changes approved?
ContinuityWhat can be recovered independently of the primary environment?

For MT5, account for the proposed server roles rather than assuming all work belongs on one host. For an established MT4 deployment, include the integrations and operating assumptions that must survive a hosting change.

Request representative evidence before a migration

  • Application checks from the intended operating regions.
  • Resource observations under a realistic workload, including scheduled tasks.
  • A documented backup scope and a restoration rehearsal.
  • An escalation path that covers both hosting and application boundaries.
  • A migration sequence with reconciliation and a rollback decision.

Keep environment details and test conditions with each result. A provider's general data-centre description does not establish the performance of your particular topology, just as a synthetic benchmark alone does not establish a smooth client journey.

Avoid confusing an extra location with full recovery

Illustrative example: a brokerage adds regional client access but leaves configuration recovery and integration credentials dependent on one primary host. The additional location may improve access while providing no complete recovery path. The checklist separates those two objectives.

Agree a handover inventory, privileged-access process, monitoring owner and capacity-review trigger. Use the dedicated Forex server scope alongside the MT4 or MT5 deployment brief so platform and hosting responsibilities remain aligned. Review the choice again when workloads, regions or critical connections change.

Questions to resolve before choosing a host

Does an extra data-centre location provide disaster recovery?

Only if the complete recovery procedure and required dependencies are available there. Distinguish regional access, spare capacity, replicated data and a usable recovery environment. Ask what can actually be restored and request evidence from the agreed rehearsal.

What should a hosting handover contain?

Obtain the service inventory, responsibility matrix, authorised-access route, monitoring coverage, backup scope and escalation process. Include current configuration and workload assumptions. The brokerage should understand both routine operation and what happens when the hosting and application providers need to investigate the same incident.
