Define the questions the architecture must answer
| Output | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Current-state map | Identify existing components, connections and unknown dependencies. |
| Target-state design | Record the proposed locations, boundaries and reasons for change. |
| Responsibility matrix | Assign configuration, incidents, recovery and integration ownership. |
| Acceptance plan | Define the evidence required before rollout or handover. |
Keep agreed requirements separate from optional improvements. A complex topology is not inherently better than a simpler one that meets the operating brief.
Resolve bottlenecks and boundaries before adding components
Discuss client geography, active workload, pricing and execution paths, administrator access and connected business systems. For each proposed component, identify the problem it solves and the dependency it introduces. Review recovery alongside the normal operating path so continuity is not left as an unspecified future task.
MetaTrader 5 supports a distributed architecture, but the actual deployment options and permissions depend on the platform arrangement. Confirm those constraints before selecting regions or promising a particular level of control.
Turn the design into a staged implementation
Prioritise changes by the operating problem and the risk of transition. Define a pilot or controlled validation stage, record the baseline and agree who approves the move to production. Include rollback conditions that can be evaluated from observable signals.
The final pack should combine the drawing, configuration decisions, support boundary and acceptance record. Use the architecture documentation guide to prepare existing evidence, and bring the result into the wider MT5 deployment discussion when a launch or platform change is involved.
