Map roles before selecting machines
MetaTrader 5 uses a distributed server architecture. The practical hosting design still depends on the components, rights and operating model included in the actual deployment. Record each role, where it runs, how it connects and who may administer it.
Separate the paths used by clients from those used by integrations and operators. Note the external services needed for market data, execution, CRM and reporting. A diagram should show what becomes unavailable when a machine, connection or provider is lost.
Choose placement from evidence
| Requirement | Measure or establish | Design question |
|---|---|---|
| Client access | User regions and observed connection behaviour | Where are access points actually useful? |
| Platform workload | Representative concurrency, data activity and background jobs | Which roles or tasks need separate resources? |
| External connectivity | The routes to selected providers and services | Which network path affects the intended workflow? |
| Recovery | Required recoverable state and restoration process | Which components must be rebuilt or restored together? |
Regional placement and additional resources should solve a measured requirement. Adding locations without a clear dependency and recovery model can make the environment harder to operate.
Run a realistic hosting review
- Record a baseline for resource behaviour and client-visible symptoms.
- Exercise integrations alongside ordinary platform activity.
- Review alerts for the loss of a required component or external connection.
- Test restoration into an isolated environment and validate connected workflows.
Keep capacity estimates separate from acceptance evidence. A planning calculator can help organise assumptions, but only the actual workload and configuration can show where a limit appears. Preserve test conditions so a later upgrade can be compared fairly.
Agree who operates the result
The handover should state which party manages infrastructure, platform configuration, access changes, backups and incident escalation. If a support duty is optional or provided by another vendor, keep it explicit in the service scope.
For a new branded deployment, begin with MT5 White Label requirements. For an existing environment, the migration review adds dependency capture and cutover planning. In either case, hosting should finish with a recoverable, documented operating model rather than an unexplained list of server specifications.
